For the first time, over one hundred drawings and watercolours by the Turkish artist Necla Rüzgar (*1972) are being shown in a solo exhibition in Germany. Erstmals werden über hundert Zeichnungen und Aquarelle der türkischen Künstlerin Necla Rüzgar (*1972) in einer Einzelausstellung in Deutschland gezeigt. Zahlreiche Werke stammen aus dem Zyklus „My Name Was Written On Every Page“, den die Künstlerin während des ersten Lockdowns der Pandemie im Frühjahr 2020 – als Reaktion auf die Ereignisse – begonnen hat. Häufig geht es in den Arbeiten von Necla Rüzgar um gesellschaftskritische Themen. So sieht sie sich als Künstlerin, die die Problemzonen des Frauseins, aber auch die des Menschseins thematisiert und kulturübergreifend beleuchtet. Zentrales Motiv im visuellen Werk Rüzgars ist immer wieder die symbolische Verwandlung oder Verschmelzung eines Menschen in ein Tier oder Mischwesen. So verschmilzt Reelles und Fantastisches und bietet den Betrachtenden die Möglichkeit, sich in der eigenen Traumwelt zu verlieren.
