As part of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, the exhibition is dedicated to Wilhelm Wagenfeld’s lighting designs. The exhibition begins with his famous table lamp from 1924, which is associated with the Bauhaus like almost no other object. But how did the Bauhaus idea develop in Wagenfeld’s work between the 1950s and 1970s? Did he continue the Bauhaus project or develop new approaches? The first chapters of the exhibition explore precisely these questions. The final chapter of the exhibition returns to the Bauhaus lamp and shows how influential its form still is today.

Im Rahmen des 100-jährigen Bauhausjubiläums widmet sich die Ausstellung den Leuchtenentwürfen Wilhelm Wagenfelds. Am Anfang steht seine berühmte Tischleuchte von 1924, die wie kaum ein anderesObjekt mit dem Bauhaus verbunden wird. Doch wie hat sich die Bauhausidee in den 1950er bis 1970er Jahren im Werk Wagenfelds weiterentwickelt? Führt er das Bauhaus-Projekt fort oder erarbeiteter neue Ansätze? Genau diesen Fragen gehen die ersten Kapitel derAusstellung nach. Das Schlusskapitel der Ausstellung wendet sich wieder der Bauhausleuchte zu und zeigt, wie prägend ihre Form auch heute noch ist.
